David Cook to Sing National Anthem at Chiefs Game
The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Tuesday that American Idol champion and Blue Springs, Missouri native David Cook will perform the National Anthem on September 14th when the Chiefs host the Oakland Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium. David will perform the anthem with his younger brother, Andrew Cook.
David originally went to the American Idol auditions in Omaha, Nebraska to support his brother Andrew through the process. However, David also auditioned for the show, and eventually became the champion of the seventh season of the hit competition.
“We are very excited to have David and Andrew perform the anthem for our first regular season game of the 2008 season” Chiefs President Carl Peterson, noted. “The citizens of Kansas City are proud to call David one of our own, and we are very happy for all of the well deserved success he has achieved. We know our fans will give both David and Andrew a very warm reception on September 14th.”
