Mike Myers, Ashanti, Eric Benet, Jamie Foxx, David Cook and Kristin Chenoweth have revealed what they want Santa to bring them this Christmas.

Funnyman Mike has a tall order on his wishlist.

“I always wanted my own private army - so that I can have my own private cafeteria, of course!” he said.

For American Idol David, he just wants some time off to relax.

“I’d like a holiday,” he admitted.

Ashanti and the Pushing Daisies star just want to be with their loved ones.

“Family and friends and fun and health are on my wishlist,” said Ashanti.

“I love being able to be with the family, hanging out. Everyone’s spirits are good, there’s positive energy, we get to take a break for a little while, and just enjoy it all.”

Kristin added: “All I want is to be with my family and the people that I love, be with my niece and nephew. I don’t really want any gifts, I just want to be together.”

Jamie would like to see the US troops in the Middle East back on home soil for the holiday season.

“Let’s bring the troops back, man. That’s all we want for the holiday,” he said.

As for singer Eric, he is content with what he already has.

“I got everything I need,” he said.

Reigning champion David Cook passed the 500,000 mark on this week’s Billboard album sales chart.  Cook held the No. 10 slot for the second week in a row, putting the sales total on his post-show debut at 582,000.

A couple random stats on Cook’s achievement and where this places him in the Idol firmament:

– According to Yahoo’s Charts blog, “This is the longest run in the top 10 for a debut album by an “American Idol” winner since Carrie Underwood’s “Some Hearts” logged 25 weeks in the top 10 in 2005-2006… This also matches Jennifer Hudson’s four-week run in the top 10 as the best recent showing by a debut album by an Idol contestant.”

– By my count, this makes Cook’s album the all-time 15th best selling Idol alum album. (Nine Idol alum albums have gone platinum.)

– Cook’s victory single “Time of My Life” has now spent more than 10 weeks on the Billboard adult contemporary charts. According to Americanidol.com, this makes “him one of 15 solo male artists to do so for 10 weeks or more since the chart began in 1961.”

And let us not forget the most important statistic of all, David’s birthday. This Saturday, DC turns 26. A very happy birthday to our champion!

CONGRATS, DAVID!

David Cook and Grammy Award-winning musician Scott Weiland are set to perform at The Mirage in Las Vegas on “New Year’s Eve Live,” airing Wednesday, Dec. 31 (11 ET/PT) on FOX. This year, “New Year’s Eve Live” goes coast-to-coast with hosts Spike Feresten of “Talkshow With Spike Feresten” and Mark Thompson of “Hole In The Wall” when they report live from the bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip. Spike and Mark will count down to 2009 with celebrity guests and performances by some of the year’s hottest musical artists. As 2008 comes to a close, the annual celebration will move to New York City to ring in the new year as the world-famous New Year’s Eve Ball makes its descent into Times Square. Interestingly enough, shortly after midnight, world-renowned daredevil Robbie Knievel will attempt a death-defying 200-foot jump over the recently renovated Mirage Volcano. It’s quite appropriate that David will be helping his fans ring in the New Year, as 2008 has been very good to him. One week after being declared the winner of American Idol Season Seven with a record-breaking 56 percent of the nearly 100 million votes cast, David rewrote chart history when 11 of his songs debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100—the highest number of new entries in a single week by an artist since The Beatles in 1964. His self-titled major-label debut entered the Billboard charts at No. 3, and is currently the No. 1 album on the digital album chart. It should also come as no surprise that producers asked David to be the first Idol in the history of the show to help promote the upcoming season.

KANSAS CITY, MO. — Blue Springs’ own David Cook released his self-titled, post-American Idol album on Tuesday. And only FOX 4 can tell you what his brother has to say about it.

FOX 4 and myfoxkc.com have been in touch with Andrew Cook during this entire process. Andrew was there with FOX 4 when David tried out for American Idol. And Andrew helped FOX 4 cover the latest round of American Idol auditions in Kansas City.

Andrew was hard-pressed to pick a favorite track off of David’s new album. At first, he said he couldn’t pick a favorite.
Then, he said, “‘Permanent’ and ‘A Daily AntheM’ hit close to home for me for obvious reasons.” Both are said to be about David and Andrew’s brother, Adam Cook, who is fighting brain cancer.

Andrew went on to say, “‘Bar-Ba-Sol’ and the hidden track ‘Kiss On The Neck’ are the heaviest tracks that I think will be David’s most energized performances when he goes on tour.”

And, finally, he got to a top three. “If you must,” he said. “1) ‘Mr. Sensitive,’ 2) ‘Declaration,’ and 3) ‘Come Back To Me.’

Before signing off, Andrew gave a shout out to his brother, “I am proud of you. I love you, and if you ever need a place to stay down in Warrensburg, the futon that you slept on in Mike and I’s room your senior year of college is waiting for you.”

Awww… from futons to fame… brothers never change.

David Cook debuts a music video in support of his newest single “Light On”. Filmed at L.A. Valley College, the music video was directed by Wayne Isham, the man behind Britney Spears’ “Piece of Me” music video.

The music video chronicles the story of a boy working at a restaurant and falling in love with his female colleague who dated another boy from the town. Near the end, the girl fights with her boyfriend in his car and is left stranded late at night on the side of the road. The boy from the restaurant then shows up on his bike and offers to take her home.

“Light On” is a song co-written by Soundgarden and Audioslave’s frontman Chris Cornell, as well as famed producer/songwriter Brian Howes. The single will be among the new tracks on Cook’s major-label debut album, “David Cook”, which is slated for purchase on November 18 in the U.S.

Seventh season “American Idol” winner David Cook has a deal with Wal-Mart for distributing the first performance of songs from his upcoming self-titled album.

The performance, recorded this week, will be exclusively available through Wal-Mart Soundcheck (www.walmart.com/soundcheck) on Nov. 15, the same day the album drops. The site will feature videos and interviews from the session, and fans can also download exclusive tracks.

Cook talked to People this week about life after “Idol” as he anticipates the release of his solo project.

“I think in one sense everything’s changed, but in another sense nothing has. I’m still a goober from the Midwest. Now I’ve just got a few more resources. I don’t feel like the show changed me at all.”
